Dear all, visiting san francisco for a week, will have wheels, are there any good outlet malls close by or shopping experiences for clothes (large sizes). or am I best to wait for Vegas or New York? Can anyone tell me any american clothes chain names for larger ladies. I had a ball in Orlando 5 years ago shopping but just wondered if there was the same in your area? Most grateful in advance!
Outlet Shopping?
Do a search for ';outlet shopping'; this comes up a lot.
The main locations are in the towns of Vacaville and Gilroy. Vacaville is a little closer to SF (1 hr), Gilroy (1.5 hr) I think has more stores.
Outlet Shopping?
Many thanks will do!
You will find all the info you need if you search as suggested.
I would wait until Vegas where you have two centres very close and easy to get to.
Marmaris, Turkey? I was there this past fall -- what a lovely place. I hope you enjoy California as much as I liked your town!
Many thanks for your view on Marmaris, and yes I am so looking forward to San Fran - only part of my US trip but will sure to be memorable. When coming from Turkey, got to squeeze in as many places as poss.
Recommend waiting till Las Vegas for Outlet shopping. Getting to Gilroy Outlets, hitting all of the sections and driving back to SF makes for one very long day, cuz drivetime is about 1.5 hours one way! I used to do it with friends and we finally stopped several years ago.
Stores in USA that are for plus size include:
Lane Bryant
Avenue
sometimes Chico%26#39;s
Macy%26#39;s
Most of these have at least one or more stores either in downtown SF or two malls located to the southwest of downtown: Stonestown, still in SF, and Serramonte in Colma.
xeronicgg, I believe you plan to drive from LA, so you can check Gilroy Premium Outlets for a few hours on the way to SF
I see that you will be driving up to SF from LA. The Gilroy outlets are along the way, just off of US 101 south of San Jose. This will be easy to reach on your drive EXCEPT if you take the coastal route (SR 1) directly to San Francisco. Assuming you are willing to veer off the coast after Monterey, you would take SR 1 north to SR 156 east to US 101 north, visit the outlets in Gilroy, get back on US 101 north, then take SR 85 north to I-280 north to reach SF. (Don%26#39;t take US 101 directly into SF; it is more congested and much less scenic!)
what is the best deals / branded items that i can find in SF? As i got limited days in SF, please assist to help on the above..
thanks!!
