Hi! My husband and I are planning to take a trip to San. Francisco, Napa, and Yosemite this summer. We are planning on a 10 day total trip. I was hoping to get some suggestions on how to break up the days between the three destination spots. Any suggestions. I am just trying to choose hotels and am not sure how many days to stay in each spot. Thanks in advance for your help.

Trip to San Francisco, napa, and yosemite
Sounds like fun. I would stay 3 nights at each place, and then the last night back in San Francisco. Hotels will depend on your budget. For the nicer Yosemite hotels, they book way in advance - so don%26#39;t wait!
Cheers!

I like the suggestion for 3 nights in each place, we like to base in Yountville in Napa Valley. The Yountville Inn and the Villagio Inn %26amp; Spa are two great places to stay in this area. You will be close to wineries and restaurants here. Have fun! :)
Are you going to post this question in the Yosemite forum as well? Most accomodations in Yosemite Valley book up a year in advance ~ nicer %26amp; ';budget'; both. Pricey, fabulous location, crowded.
What do you like to do on vacation? Eat well? Hike? Be pampered?
Don%26#39;t keep your rental car while you are in San Francisco; either get it after you visit or drop it off after Napa %26amp; Yosemite and then visit.
When is the summer trip? Are you familiar with the weather and crowds of your chosen season?
Thank your for your message. We are planning on going the middle of July. My husband and I enjoy good food, good wine, and a nice place to stay. If you have any suggestions I would love to hear them. I have done a lot of research and have read my hours worth of forum posts. So much fun to plan. Thank you all for your suggestions.
Smiles!!
Thanks for the suggestions will look into those places to stay.

I was in Yosemite in early July for a couple of days, and we were just able to go tubing down the Merced river. Any later and the water levels would have been too low. I echo the previous suggestion that you book your accomodations in Yosemite as early as possible.
We actually did the same trip last May and had a wonderful time! We flew into Oakland and headed to Napa. Spent 3 nights in Napa then headed to Yosemite for 3 nights. We then spent 2 nights in SF. If I had to choose, I would have added one more night to SF and one more to Napa as my husband and I love wine (would have loved to have done the hot air balloon ride but ran out of time). Have a wonderful trip!
Hi! Where did you stay in Napa, Yosemite, and San Fran.? Would love to know if you enjoyed your stay at the various places you chose. Any help would be great. I can%26#39;t wait for my vacation. It%26#39;s only January:( Thank you.
Smiles:)
I would probably book your rooms ASAP (especially Napa and Yosemite) as I hear the summer books up pretty fast! We loved each place we stayed at..In Napa, we stayed at Petit Logis in Yountville (good value, with jacuzzi tub and fireplace)-great proximity to the wineries and lots of restaurants; Yosemtite- The Big Creek Inn-, absolutely wonderful B%26amp;B; not on the floor, but only 2 miles from the entrance. San Fran- stayed at the JW Marriott in Union Square, great location and nice hotel; we walked the majority of the city but had easy access to public trans
Have a wonderful trip!!
I%26#39;ve stayed at the Wawona in Yosemite. I liked it but my ex-GF did not. It was rustic (i.e., no air conditioning) but charming. It is away from the valley (about a 30 minute drive) where a lot of activities can take place. Because it was away from the valley, I found the hotel to be quiet and peaceful in the evenings.
In SF and Napa Valley, I liked staying at bed %26amp; breakfasts. But I%26#39;ve also stayed at the JW Marriott in SF and will be staying at a Marriott in Napa because of hotel points. It%26#39;s all about personal tastes and budgets. Personally I would stay at a bed %26amp; breakfasts if its my first time in the area.
