Hello, need help choosing both location and accomodations for a family of 5. We are 2 parents and 3 teenage girls. We don%26#39;t need to be close to Disney, Legoland etc. We are looking at Coronado: Glorietta Bay Inn and La Jolla: Empress Hotel--any other suggestions on location/hotels would be greatly appreciated!! jennie
Family of 5 with teens--location? hotels?
We are staying for 2 nights, mid April and like that $200ish range--thanks! jen

Just for the record,Disney is NOT in San Diego and Legoland is for little kids.
Will you guys have a car? IF YES, then either location would be fine. I didn%26#39;t realize that the Empress had a room for 5 people for under $200. Glorietta Bay will include breakfast if that is of interest and it is closer to downtown ,zoo,Balboa Park etc. but with a car either would be fine.
Yes those were two poor examples--what I should have said is that we don%26#39;t necessarily need to be near an attraction. Thanks, jennie
We stayed on beautiful Coronado last year with 3 kids but needed 2 rooms. We did not have a car and although we loved the island, it was not practical for easy sight-seeing because the bus ride was long journey (it%26#39;s a daily passenger route, so needs to be convoluted) and the ferry was expensive.
It%26#39;s a beautiful city with a LOT to see and do!
Coronado is a beautiful area to stay in, there is a very pretty stretch of beach here. I hope you are able to get over to SeaWorld, we loved our time there! :)
embassy suites in la jolla/utc is nice. free breakfest and happy hour. good location.
