Sunset Ranch or Griffith Park for horseback riding?

We%26#39;re thinking about going horseback riding while we are in the L.A. area. I checked out the reviews on tripadvisor for the Sunset Ranch and the Griffith Park horse riding locations. Both had old reviews and made some negative remarks that were worrisome but I noticed that the reviewer%26#39;s were the same people and were made on the same day. HMMMM. I know that some people think it%26#39;s cruel to have horseback riding for the public...... So I was wondering if anyone had been to either of these places recently recently?

Thanks!

I%26#39;ll say this. When Los Angelenos want to move from place to place, they don%26#39;t jump on a horse! I%26#39;ve ridden a few times in my life (I%26#39;ve been to Sunset Ranch and I thought it was fun) but I%26#39;ve read reviews about horseback riding that say that if you%26#39;re SERIOUS about it, you%26#39;re better off riding elsewhere.

Here%26#39;s a list of equestrian facilities in the southern CA area. The Burbank facilities use Griffith Park for the trails. Rule of thumb: the farther away from L.A. you go, the better the experience (again, if you%26#39;re serious about riding). If not, Griffith Park should be fine (use one of the Burbank facilities)

Thanks for your help. I think I%26#39;ll take a pass on the horses. Bummer, I thought it might have been fun.
