My LA area vacation

Hi everyone! We just got back last nite after a 5 day stay in the Los Angeles area, and once again,I would like to thank all the contributors to the forum page who answer my and all others inquiries..you guys know your stuff!! In particular,I gotta thank Alex,Yogachick and Hopskipjump for their advice and input as it was on point! We ended up staying at the Le Parc Suites in West Hollywood where EVERYONE on staff goes out of their way to make sure that all your needs are met or accomodated. The restaurant,The Knoll is very good for either dining in or for room service. The location is perfect, inasmuch as it is centrally located to just about anything you may want to see or do in the area as well as being in a nice, quiet residential neighborhood unlike near the touristy, riff raff laden area along Hollywood Blvd.(which is where I stayed with my buddies in the summer!)We took in a movie(Yes Man)at Graumans-which was a cool experience,as well as the whole Blvd. thing, after which we got a bite to eat at the fabulous 25 Bistro at the Hotel Roosevelt. We also spent the better part of a day doing the Beverly Hills thing-window shopping on Rodeo Dr. and the surrounding sts.,meeting the ';ambassador'; of Beverly Hills(Greg Donovan)and having the kids picture taken with him. Luch at Spago%26#39;s did not dissapoint-the beet and goat cheese appetizer was delicious. We also did some shopping at the Beverly Center which is within walking distance of the Le Parc. Along the way we also checked out the ever bustling Urth Cafe, which also lived up to the TA reviews. On NYE we spent the day at Universal-the tour guide we had for the studio tour (Chaz) was an absolute scream!!We could have stopped right there(but didn%26#39;t) and it would have been worth it. The kids(13,16,%26amp;21)were not impressed with the Simpson%26#39;s ride, especially the 13 year old who said it was not worth the 45 minute wait. By the way..I forgot to mention that while in Beverly Hills,we took the 40 minute trolly tour($5.00 per person)which was well worth the time and money spent. Later on NYE we had dinner at Vivoli Cafe and Trattoria on Sunset Blvd. berfore the holiday menu went into effect, and once again everything I read about this place on TA and other sites was on the money! Another great dining experience where the staff even gave my wife a complementary tiramisu(delicious) with a candle and a staff singing of Happy Birthday for her birthday that nite. On our last full day(Thursday),we went to Santa Monica Pier and the Third Street Promenade which made for a nice day after a stop at Mel%26#39;s Drive-In (in WeHo,not hollywood) for breakfast. To wrap up the day,we took the drive down the coast to San Clemente(stopping briefly at Huntington Beach) and had dinner at Fisherman%26#39;s Restaurant and Bar. Once again a great pick as advised by TA(Alex). Unfortunately, the weather on 1/1 was a bit foggy,so we weren%26#39;t able to fully appreciate the beauty that the SoCal coast has to offer-but we got the idea! Well,I guess that pretty much was our stay in a nutshell. I know that I may have been a bit wordy, but I wanted to let you experts know how great of a time one can have if they follow your advice and do their homework,as well as let other posters to your forum know the kind of experience one can have by asking questions and following some expert advice. I only hope that I can be as informative and helpful when called upon for Long Island/NYC advice in the future. Thanks again and Happy New Year!
