First visit-where to stay

Where should we stay? We are traveling in April. I found a few good deals. One is at the Sofia.I can%26#39;t decide if we should stay downtown or in another area. Thanks

IF you won%26#39;t have a rental car then staying downtown is a great idea. Our downtown is small and pretty along the bayfront .It has good access to public transportation,restaurants,tours, airport etc.

IF you will have a car then you have to factor parking charges into your ';good deal';.

You also have many choices of areas sooo tell us a bit more about who is traveling in your group ,what you like etc.

Thanks for your response. Only my husband and I are traveling. I did check the daily parking rate at the Sofia and it is $28.00-yipes but Expedia has a great deal.We would like to visit many sites such as Balboa Park etc. I see that there is so much to see. It would be easier to have a car to visit the surronding areas. I would like to stay at least in a 3* hotel.Thanks again
