United issued ticket for my flight from SLC to SYD with connection time 45 minutes in LAX.I think this is mission impossible because for international flight you should be 20-30 minutes before departure,means I HAVE only 15 minutes-25 minutes to run with wife from United shuttle from terminal 8 to pass the screening in international terminal and got to the gate of United flight to Australia.We are going for cruise and cannot miss our plane.

Please tell me that exist any government rules that United should respect such as minimum time connection in airport?

You could not be farther away. Terminal 8 is the farthest terminal from the international terminal.

As far as I know there is no law regarding minimum allowable connection times. Is there an earlier flight that day from SLC to LAX? If not, cancel that part of your flight and take Southwest Airlines www.southwest.com they have a 7:30 non-stop that gets you into LAX at 8:30. $108.60 each way with advance purchase. Best ontime record in the airline industry.

I noticed on the terminal map that United doesn%26#39;t use the International Terminal. Wikipedia says their flight to Sydney leaves from Terminal 7.

Simba is correct. United international is in Terminal 7. They do not use the Tom Bradley Terminal for international departures. They will check you in all the way to SYD at SLC. You shouldn%26#39;t have a problem unless the UA filight from SLC to LAX is delayed. Have a great cruise!

Terminal 8 is connected to Terminal 7. All of United%26#39;s operations are together under Terminal 6, 7, and 8 and they are all connected by a walkway behind secuirty. You will not need to go through security at LAX on your way to Sydney. Get off your flight in Terminal 8 and make the walk over to Terminal 7. The flight to Sydney leaves at the end of the Term 7 rotunda, usually gate 77.

A terminal map is provided above. Just walk around the U shape from Terminal 8 to the end of Terminal 7 toward gate 77. Should not take more than 5-10 minutes to walk there depending on how fast you walk. Don%26#39;t hesitate to ask a United Express staff member in Terminal 8 for directions to Terminal 7 if you get confused.
