Me and my wife will be in San Diego. We are 28 and will be driving our own car. Need help to decide in hotel booking (must have parking) and places to visit.
Would appreciate any help.
Couple visiting San Diego 1st time from 25th - 29th May
Hi adishail, Welcome to the forums.
I suppose you mean ';free'; parking so that leaves out a lot of hotels. What is your price range? Are you interested in only beach locations or are places away from the beach OK?
Since you are from LA you must have some idea of what you can do here but if not ,take a look at this and let us know what appeals to you.

riffsmom, thanks for your reply.
My wife is in LA and I am in Houston. We are not really sure about ';to do'; things. Yes, preferably ';free parking';. Price range - up to $100 a night.
$100 dollars a night in San Diego limits your choices greatly. I suggest you do an Expedia or Priceline search to see what comes up.
As for as ';must sees'; I always say Balboa Park/Zoo and La Jolla Cove/Village area. But would help to know abit more what you are interested in, nightlife, beaches, sports.
Oh I love San Diego! My husband and I were there for Christmas this past December! We stayed at the Hotel Del Coronado. Very pricey though but even if you can%26#39;t stay there, I%26#39;d definitely recommend a visit. You can stroll around the shops and inside the hotel. It%26#39;s quite famous; Some Like it Hot was filmed there and very famous people have stayed there. They have an incredible Sunday Brunch. That%26#39;s pricey too, but so worth the money!
My favorite San Diego place is the San Diego Zoo in Balboa Park. The park is very large and also has tons of museums all right there together. The Giant Pandas are our favorites. My advice for the zoo is to go early in the day as it gets pretty crowded in the afternoon. There is always a line to see the pandas but once you get in you can stay as long as you want. I could stay there all day! LOL They have a deluxe ticket you can buy that includes a bus tour and an arial tram. I think you can take these as many times as you want, since they don%26#39;t really check your tickets, but I might be wrong about that. We bought our tickets online and got an extra day for only $5 more.
If you like pizza I would recomend Oggi%26#39;s Pizza. It%26#39;s a sports bar place but they have VERY good pizza. The website is Oggis.com and there are several locations. The one pizza I absolutely LOVED is called March Madness. It wasn%26#39;t until we got there and found out that Oggi%26#39;s is a sports bar type place that I understood the name! LOL. This March Madness is like five different types of cheeses. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. I would go back to San Diego just for that!
Another pizza place is called Pizza Port. We got there just before they closed but it%26#39;s got a surfing motif and it seems to cater primarily to younger people. Still, they had a good beer selection, which my husband liked and the pizza was good. There are a few locations as well. The website is pizzaport.com.
As far as hotels go, I%26#39;ve only been to San Diego a few times (That I remember) and the first time I went with my husband our hotel was kind of lame, so the only recomendation I have is for the Del. However, I know that%26#39;s probably out of the price range for a lot of travelers, but it is a nice place. Next time I go to San Diego, we%26#39;ll probably stay somewhere cheaper. However, they do have parking. Unfortunately it isn%26#39;t free. Hopefully someone here can help you with the hotel and parking situation. I may even check to see what people say as far as hotels for a future visit!
Hope that helps!
As mentioned $100 does not buy much here BUT some possibilities are:
Balboa Park Inn,La Pensione,Dolphin Motel,Old Town Inn
These all have free parking and are in your price range. They are in decent areas but only the Old Town Inn has a pool out of these choices.
You may also find the Days Hotel in your price range.
We also loved our stay at the Hotel Del, La Jolla is another beautiful area not to miss! :)
You will love San Diego. There are so many unique attractions to do and see. Don%26#39;t miss the San Diego Zoo. We stayed last year at the Sheraton Marina and found this to be a good hotel for all attractions.
