We are going to be travelling down the coast from San Francisco to San Diego in July - leaving San Fran on the 9th and finishing up in San Diego on the 16th. Would anybody be able to receommend any good car hire companies with reasonable rates? Also would you recommend having this organised before we arrive in the US (from Ireland) - maybe a month or so before?

It doesn%26#39;t cost anything to reserve a car so the sooner the better if you can get a better rate. You can always cancel if a better price appears from another company;so keep whcking the websites.
Car Hire for Californian CoastI would look into reserving your car before you leave home. It appears that persons from the British Isles can get better rates, including the insurance required by doing that.
