Hollywood from Anaheim

Thinking of doing a day trip to Hollywood whilst we are in Anaheim., Not real interested in an organised tour as we want to do our own stuff and not be tied down .

How easy is it to get to Hollywood from Anaheim ? Is there public transport if so how long and approx cost or is it better hiring a car for the day , and what would the parking be like in Hollywood ?

Cheers

Hiring a car for the day is the best way to see Hollywood/Berverly Hills/LA since many things are spread around. The public transport can add alot of time to the trip.

In some cases, complimentary parking is provided by certain shopping districts. For example: if you want to visit the Grove/Farmer%26#39;s Market then some free parking is included with validation from one of the restaurants or shops.

In most areas you%26#39;ll find large garages such as Hollywood/Highland for the Kodak and Chines theater, there is a large garage.

At Universal Studios, there is a large garage connected to the park.

Thinking of doing the same thing. I found all the public transport info I needed at http://www.metro.net/index.asp. Just put in Disneyland and Hollywood and it%26#39;ll tell you the route/time/cost. It takes about 2 or so hours by bus/train and happy if we can avoid the parking, traffic and getting lost probs.

Renting a car is the best way to go from Anaheim to Hollywood, but if you want to avoid the hassles of L.A traffic, parking and driving on opposite side of the road, then P.T is good. getting to Hollywood from Anaheim by bus or train has two options: 1. Amtrak or Metrolink train to L.A, then subway to Hollywood. Or.,2. Take bus 460 from Disneyland to L.A%26#39;s 7th street Metro center, then subway to H-Wood.
