Fishermans Wharf to San Francisco Giants Stadium

My son and I are planning a May trip to San Francisco. With no plans for a rental car, what is the best way to get to the stadium from the Best Western Tuscan near the Wharf.

Fishermans Wharf to San Francisco Giants Stadium

are you trying to get to AT%26amp;T Park for baseball? Take the F Market trolley above ground from Fisherman%26#39;s Wharf www.sfmuni.com/F and transfer (always get a transfer when you pay unless you are using a visitor passport) to the T Third underground at Embarcadero Station (the trolley turns onto Market and you should get out there at Drumm and go downstairs). www.sfmta.com/cms/asystem/routedesc.php鈥?/a> (take the same route to get back to Fisherman%26#39;s Wharf)

The 30-Stockton bus runs along North Point and goes to 4th and Townsend, a couple of blocks (maybe 300 yards or so) from the stadium. It%26#39;s about a 35-minute ride that passes through North Beach, Chinatown, Union Square, and South of Market, so you%26#39;ll see some of the busiest areas of the City on your ride.

An alternative is the F-line historic streetcar. Take it along the Embarcadero, get off at Embarcadero Plaza and take the T-Third St. metro train (in the subway). Get off at 4th and King. There%26#39;s more margin for error with the Metro because of the transfer. The bus is foolproof, you just ride to the end of the line.

if it%26#39;s a day game, F Line to the Ferry Building and a 20 minute walk to the ballpark. Nice view of the Bay Bridge and the excitement when you round the corner and see the ballpark. You could even do this in the evening, always bring a jacket and hat, does get nippy on occasion.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I will research these routes and see which will be the best to take. Thanks Roadrunner your route seems to be the easiest so far for me to understand.

There is an option that is so much easier than anything mentioned above. Take the 10 line! This Muni bus line operates directly from the street outside your hotel room to one block away from AT%26amp;T Park. See the route map (鈥?11.org/static/鈥m5562_312200754018.pdf) for proof! Buses operate every 15 minutes, with 10-minute service during weekday rush hours. The last bus from the stadium is at approximately 7:54 PM on weekdays and approximately 9:38 PM on weekends. Check out http://www.sfmta.com/10 for more information.

If you find yourself out after these times, catch the 30 line instead. It picks up about 3 blocks from the stadium and drops you off about 2 blocks from your hotel. See http://www.sfmta.com/30 for details.

I would agree with trying one of the scenic routes after the game, when you%26#39;re less concerned about getting delayed.

There%26#39;s not much to see in the general area of the ballpark at night, but the ride back to the hotel can offer some sightseeing.

You might enjoy the Embarcadero--the waterfront along the Bay, with views of the bridge and the East Bay; or one of the bus rides through the heart of the City (30-Stockton, 47-Van Ness, or 45-Union). Depending on the time, the Ferry Building can be a place to stop to get a bite, check out gourmet shops, or take a walk and watch the ferry boats.

If you%26#39;ll be heren several days, a Muni (Municipal Railway) Visitor Passport is a bargain as well as a big convenience. You pay a flat fee for 1, 3, or 7 days and it gets you on all City transit (cable cars, historic streetcars, Metro trains, buses, but not BART). Cable car fare is $5.00 with no transfer or reboarding. One cable car round trip and one other ride will cover the cost of a pass for a day.
