Redondo beach or Hermosa

We need a hotel for 1 night before a cruise leaving from SanPedro. We are stuck between Portofino in Redondo and Beach House in Hermosa. We would like to bar hop and have a nice dinner. We will be arriving in LA at noon so we will prety much have a good part of the day where ever we decide to stay. Which hotel do you think is better and also we will be using taxis so can you tell us how far the distance is from each city to the hotel and approx. driving time.

Thanks

If you want to bar hop then you%26#39;ll want to be at the Beach house. The Portofino is in a beautiful location with some restaurants within walking distance, but Hermosa Beach is known for its fun bar scene. You can take a taxi from one location to the other because they are within 5 minutes of each other. You%26#39;ll also want to spend some time walking on the path at the beach----or renting beach cruiser bikes and biking along. Manhattan Beach is 5 minutes north of Hermosa and Redondo Beach is 5 minutes south of Hermosa. All the areas are connected by the bike path--it%26#39;ll be a really fun day for you. to get to San Pedro by taxi will take 25 minutes or so, south on the freeway. You%26#39;ll probably have great weather--this is a good time of year at the beach--its been in the low 80%26#39;s!

Have fun! Carol

If you are under 30 then Hermosa Beach and the Beach House is what you want. Just walk a block to the Plaza for all the night life you could want. Also it is located right on the Strand.

If you want a Marina view of the ocean, in quiet surrounding, the Portofino in Redondo is just beautiful, as it%26#39;s on it%26#39;s on peninsula. You would need to take a cab to one of the other beach cities, like Manhattan for a nice dinner.

We%26#39;ve stayed at the Beach House, and it is lovely. Plus, right on the strand, so alot of fun. Fall asleep to the sound of the waves and wake up to all the joggers, walkers, volleyball players, etc., right out your front door!

I live in Redondo Beach and it%26#39;s very nice. But if you are looking for bars, then stay in Hermosa Beach. More convenient and closer.

Check out Pier Ave., lot%26#39;s of fun there.
