Laguna beach, attractions, first time in usa!

Im from NZL and starting to plan a 3 week trip in mid May. plan is to start in New York 1 week, fly to Las Vegas for a few days then rest of time in LA%26gt; im 23, my sister is 26.

Is there a bus to Laguna beach? Id like to check it out after watching the t.v show haha.

Are the clubs in LA very restricted? Can anyone go or are some just for the A list kinda rich ppl? Arethere long lines? :s

Im assuming theres a good tourist system with organised tours and day trips around the main hotspots like hollywood and stuff which id be keen for as i get totally lost easily.

Laguna Beach is located in Orange County(The OC) which is around 1 hour South(via car) of Los Angeles along the coast.

Depending on where you are staying in LA, then bus transfer times can vary. However, the bus ride will be quite long and with a number of transfers since you are using the transportation system or two counties.

You might want to look into an organzied tour from LA of coastal Orange Country which would include a visit to Laguna Beach.

Agree with previous poster...the public transportation system here in L.A and Orange County is not very efficient. It would take you around 5 hours to bus it from L.A to Laguna Beach. Not fun. I would suggest lookin up tour companies such as Gray Line who can offer tours of Orange County attractions such as Disneyland, Newport Beach(setting of ';The O.C';) and Laguna itself. Cant help much with the club thing, sorry. Please message me with any other q%26#39;s you may have.

Actually the busservice is pretty much efficient when you are looking to get places within Los Angeles. You have to understand that compared to New Zealand, this city is HUGE. So going from Hollywood/L.A.Westside to Laguna is a long way, kinda going between two different countries in Europe. So in that regards it will be a hassle to depend on a bus for that

As for clubs, the big places you see mostly on tv are in West Hollywood(restaurants/lounges) and Hollywood(restaurants, lounges and clubs), you

need to be on a guestlist to gain entry, I can help you out with some, just e-mail me the week you come out so I know what spots I would have that I can hook you up with

Check out Main Beach, from there you can walk to several nice shops and restaurants. Claes @ the Hotel Laguna is a nice place to dine with oceanviews, they also have The Terrace there, a more casual venue with outdoor seating. Las Brisas is another very nice casual place for a meal in Laguna with gorgeous views, next to the Laguna Beach Art Museum. www.lagunabeach.com Have fun! :)

ok thanks, wow alex that would be nice :) im sure i will be very overwhelmed with the whole experience so the more i have planned out from this end the better it will be. but still want to have the flexibility to do whatever, but most big attractions will be pretty easy to organise thru the accommodation we r staying at id say.

got a brochure today with tours and stuff theres a OC one which has 3 stops at various beaches inc laguna. so might need to stay in anaheim and also los angeles itself.

still trying to get the best deal NZ-LA so will be back with more questions soon!!

Consider hiring a car for some of your days in Los Angeles, Saturday and sunday mornings the drive to Laguna would be very easy. Check National Car Rental%26#39;s excellent prices for Australians.
