Restaurants downtown

I am staying at the River Terrace Inn and plan to take to trolley downtown. Which restaurants are casual, fun, and have descent prices. Are there a lot of wine shops downtown?

There are more than a dozen wine tasting shops within 1 mile of where you are staying (all walking distance).

There are also more than 2 dozen restaurants that qualify as casual, fun and decent prices (for Napa-- sadly, very few places here run less than $20-25 per person by the time you get done paying taxes, tip, etc).

Are you looking for real cheap eats? Like $5 per person? Is $20-25 pp too much?

Please let us know (the concierges at River Terrace will also help you w/this, and will give you maps and directions to these spots once you arrive). :)

$20-$25 is perfectly acceptable. I kinda assumed that was how much dinner would cost on average :) Thanks for all of your help.

There are wine tasting rooms all over the downtown area. Here is a link to a list - http://www.napadowntown.com/wine_tasting.html

Downtown Napa has some of the best restaurants in the bay area. All are casual. I%26#39;ve listed these because you can do dinner for under $25 - and sometimes under $15!

Hog Island Oyster Co - (Oxbow), about 1/2 mile away. You can make a meal out of their clam chowder and bread - for about $20.

For dinner - fairly inexpensive, Uva, Ristorante Allegria, Pizza Azzurro, Bleaux Magnolia (FYI - Bleaux Magnolia does not charge corkage - a great way to save $$ on the food ticket.)

Budget friendly good eats in downtown Napa:

Clementes - his Malfatti and Ravioli are legendary - he%26#39;s located inside Vals Liquors on the corner of 3rd and 4th. When I want some good Italian comfort food, I get his gnocchi in the meat sauce for a whopping $5.50 per dozen- this is all to-go, they have containers - your hotel will provide plates and silverware. Lunch or dinner

Taqueria Rosita - you eat inside - fast service, very inexpensive and just good! Lunch or dinner

Christopher%26#39;s Fine Foods in the Napa Town Center - good sandwiches - lunch.

Napa General Store - nice location by the river -lunch.

Bon Appetit!

Here%26#39;s a list we did a few months ago for someone w/the same question:

Locos is gone (out of biz)--a kids restaurant replaced it.

All of the others are still current. More good news: In the next few months, there will be a new Indian place over by Shackford%26#39;s:

Have a good time! :)
