any 5 star hotels?

planning to go to Paso Robles for a meeting and thinking of staying overnight in San Luis Obispo (maybe) to see Hearst Castle and wine tasting?

Can you suggest a great hotel/resort that is 5 stars?I can%26#39;t find anything... we like the 4 seasons type of places...

thanks!

I don%26#39;t think there are any true 5 stars. The Madonna Inn is quite unique however. See the TA reviews tripadvisor.com/Hotels-g33026-San_Luis_Obisp…

I would instead steer you to Moonstone Beach in Cambria. Its 7 miles south of Hearst Castle...it has wine tasting within a few miles. And some really great restaurants. Beautiful ocean scenery.

If you want to stay in San Luis Obispo - there is not much to see...beyond the typical city type stuff.

Realize you are on central coast of California....its not 4 season type territory so look for wonderful other places to stay at....

However at Moonstone Beach you can have a gorgeous ocean view....fireplace in the room....wonderful dinner in town looking at the artsy crafty stores.

Many wineries

I concur with the above comments on Cambria. Also see this article on Paso Robles which is a great winery area itself. …latimes.com/articles/la-trw-pasorobles13apr… Also …nytimes.com/2007/… And dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/fea/travel/…

thank you for the helpful info! looking into the options now! :)

The Sycamore Springs Resort in SLO is very nice, but definitely not on the same level as Four Seasons. Cambria does not have any lodging of this caliber, either. The Inns are nice on Moonstone Beach Drive, just don%26#39;t expect 5 star luxury, have fun! :)

The above location is in Paso Robles.

There%26#39;s also the Dolphin Bay Resort in Pismo Beach that might fit your idea of a lux accommodation.

Villa Toscana in Paso Robles is also a luxury hotel that looks very nice, it is associated with Martin %26amp; Weyrich, one of our favorite places to wine taste in Paso Robles. :)

While we were in Paso this weekend we stopped at La Bella Serra to look around, from the outside it looks like a basic hotel, once you step inside, you ar transported to luxury and beauty. The lobby is beautiful and there was a glowing fire, Enoteca here looked very nice for a meal, a formal restaurant. The pool area is beautiful with views of some vineyards. I didn%26#39;t get a chance to look at the rooms as we were a bit rushed and needed to make a dinner reservation at Artisan, I found the rates to be very reasonable, some of the King rooms start under $200/night. There is also a spa here, this would be a very nice special occasion place, we decided we need to stay here next year! :)

I just got back from a visit to San Luis Obispo and I stayed at the Apple Farm Inn in the Millhouse Suite. I would give it close to 5 stars. http://www.applefarm.com/

I believe the Blue Whale Inn in Cambria is 4 or 5 Stars. Hard to get a reservation for that place though.

Have fun!
