HI
Considering visiting Los Angeles and looking for a family hotel that allows me to get to Disney quite easily. Will want a family hotel with pools etc and as much to keep kids happy - 4 and 9 year old.
Dont mind driving as will be getting a car no matter what.
Any advice appreciated.

Advice - family hotel near disney in LA that wont cost tons?Disney isn%26#39;t in LA it%26#39;s in Anaheim, about an hour away from most hotels in the L.A. area. Are you just visiting California for Disney, or are you asking about a visit to Los Angeles and just driving a day trip to Disney in Anaheim? What else do you plan to do in Los Angeles and how long will you stay?
If you are just looking for a family-friendly hotel near Disney, there are many....Park Plaza Inn, Candy Cane Inn, Holiday Inn Walnut, Annabella Hotel for a start.
Advice - family hotel near disney in LA that wont cost tons?first off make sure you post this on the anaheim forum - you will get a few more replies and secondly think about staying in anaheim for a few nights whilst you do disney and then make your way up to the LA area - bit of a trek to do either as a day trip day plus you%26#39;d need at least two in each....
For what its worth we%26#39;ve just recently stayed in the howard johnson anaheim for abut $79 p/n - keep your eye out for the review i%26#39;ll be posting in the next couple of days - ideal for children and disneys walkable...
You%26#39;ll be spoilt for choice with family hotels in the Anaheim area. It is a lovely area with many restaurants you can walk to. I think hotels in Anaheim are generally all very good. There seems to be a certain standard that hotels keep to. As well as lots of hotels there are also many suite type properties which have separate living, kitchen and sleeping areas. The majority of these have an all you can eat breakfast buffet and some even include free evening drinks and snacks. Obviously these cost more than a standard room in a hotel but I do think they offer remarkably good value for money. We have stayed in both the Residence Inn Garden Grove and the Embassy Suites South also in Garden Grove. I would recommend either of them, they are both spotlessly clean and extremely well maintained. They offer everything a family would need. We made a reservation for August 09 and the cost for Embassy Suites is $145 a night. As the previous poster has said they got a hotel room for $79 so you can definately get a room in Anaheim that isn%26#39;t going to cost tons.
Good luck with your planning!
lots of cheap hotels around disneyland, I know the KandyKane is popular.
Make sure you clear it with the group and don%26#39;t go too cheap, there are some old less desirable motels in the area.
Yes, take a look at The Candy Cane Inn. It looks like a lovely hotel and gets great reviews consistently. The standard rooms are priced from $99 to $139.
we stayed at the sheraton anaheim the castle looking hotel this hotel was excellent and run a bus every half hour to disney.
