I will be staying in west Hollywood for a week in May. Could anyone let me know if they think car hire is essencial or can you get around well with without? What places is a must to visit. I will be travelling alone. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.

What are your interests? There are millions of things to do and see in Los Angeles, hard to recomend something if we dont know what youi are looking for
West Hollywood is fairly centrally located and served by reginal and rapid express buses, some that are running 24/7, so you should be fine just using public transportation
