We have been looking at the East Cota condos. A bit expensive tho. Our first time to Santa Barbara. We would like to come for a week at the end of January. Can someone recommend good hotel in good location about #200. night. How is the weather there now? Tx

We just got back from a wonderful three night stay at the Fess Parker Doubletree Inn. The location was great, right across the street from the ocean, with gorgeous sunsets over the water. Everything you need is at the resort. They have bike and trolley rentals, beautiful grounds, lounges and restaurants. You could probably find a good rate on one of the web sites like Expedia or AAA, near your price range. Santa Barbara is fairly expensive year around, more so in summer. They might have some good rates in Jan.

You might also look at the Villa Rosa, though a block back from the beach.

Thank you. Ithought the vills Rosa looked quite nice. I had looked at it because of a previous post. Problem is that there are a couple of terrible posts about furniture being old and place not kept up.

There are loads of small hotels in the West Beach area. Close to the beach and downtown. January and February are typically slow times of the year, so $200 won%26#39;t be a problem.
