The only way we could get our 16 year old daughter to go on a vacation with us in the RV was to take her to a warm beach. We are very familiar with L.A. , Orange County and San Diego area, but have no info on RV parks. I found places thru trailerlife.com and Goodsam.com but not many pictures or real helpful info.I was hoping someone out there has been to some of the parks and could help us out!

The RV park that is on the beach and closest to L.A. is Dockweiler RV Park.
Info is here:

Try searching on www.rvparkreviews.com . Very similar to TripAdvisor but reviews are specifically for rv parks. Most of the reviews also have links to the rv park%26#39;s website so you can check out the photos and amenities.
Have fun searching!
When you are reading website descriptions and ';a beach'; is important to you, make sure you check the photos and descriptions very carefully! And when you call for your booking, ask how far away from the *RV sites* the beach is.
Many RV websites and ads kind of ';shade'; the truth a bit . . . ';just a short stroll from the beach'; may mean a 10 minute walk across major thoroughfares, lol!
Did you ever find a place? We have the same problem with our 15 year old son. I%26#39;m trying to find someplace in southern california for spring break (end of March). We%26#39;re from Colorado.
Try Malibu Beach RV Park (Malibu)
Dockweiler Beach RV Park (L.A.)
Golden Shores RV Park Long Beach
Bolsa Chica State Beach Campground (Huntington Beach, Orange County)
Doheny Beach State Beach Campground (Dana Point in OC)
San Clemente State Beach Campground (OC)
Anaheim RV Resort (Disneyland area, not beach)
Newport Dunes RV Resort (Newport Beach in OC)
How about Campland on the Bay in San Diego or even better South Carlsbad State Beach.

Hi SashiDenver, here are some websites that will help you, where you can find more info and prices about those parks listed above. As you may know, some RV parks are more adult-oriented.
The last website is similar to TA, in that it lists reviews of RV parks, so is very useful. For example, as is true with hotels, the websites sometimes make their parks look *fabulous* and might neglect to mention that a busy train track runs right by it ;-)

Oh, just realized you were thinking of spring break - the State Parks are probably all booked up. Also, many do not have full hookups, some have no hookups at all.
Yes, it would be hard for me to book a state park, I%26#39;ll check out some of the other websites mentioned, thanks for the help!
Has anyone done the Universal Studios Hollywood VIP Tour? Is it worth the price? I thought we may stop there on our way to the beach.
for Riffsmom,
We did end up staying at Campland by the bay. I guess I am spoiled but it was horrible, awful and any other bad description I could think of. This is what I didn%26#39;t like about the park: too many sites crammed together. You are literally on top of one another. Now, I will give you the fact that it is an older park and was built when RV%26#39;s were smaller and had no slides. But still very tight. Our slide was touching the awning of the RV next to us. But even with that given,We could hear the man in his RV snoring at night. Way too many people running around, kids everywhere which would be OK if you weren%26#39;t scared you were going to run them over,on their bikes,skateboard,skates...etc....Too many cars in each site. Very,Very noisy. Let%26#39;s hope you want to go to the breakfast because they announce it over the loudspeaker at 7 a.m.
I am from northern Ca. and RV oarks up here and farther north just have more room. I guess it is all in what you are used to. To be fair, we spoke with many vacationers there who loced it and had been visiting for many years.
