We are going to Universal studio either on the 2nd or 8th Jan 09 and worry that it will be packed there. Anyone can give us advise about the advance purchase of the tickets or any tips to see as much show as possible such as taking the fast track ticket and return for the show like they do in Disney?.... Please advise
THanks
Jenny
Visiiting Universal studio....Any advise??This is offseason for Universal Studios, highly uinlikely that it will be busy, so no need to get front of the line passes(in case it will be packed, you can buy them at the gate)
No need to buy advance tickets, instead bring any Coke Can to the ticket booth and you will get $20 off each ticket!(Up to 6 tickets per coke can)
The show venues at Universal have huge cpacity, so no need to get front of line passes there. Only ride you might have a line for would be the studio backlot tour, but that shouold not be more then 20/30 minutes top

I don%26#39;t see the Coke offer advertised anywhere except at the link below but that applies to residents of California, Nevada and Arizona, only. Universal is claiming to %26#39;verify residency'; at the front gates.

BTW, you don%26#39;t have to buy the Front of the Line Passes at the front gate. You can buy the passes INSIDE the park (after you%26#39;ve determined that you%26#39;ll need them -- which you WON%26#39;T since January is winter in L.A. and the parks are not crowded).
Ask at the entrance gates for the location of the ticket booth that is INSIDE the park.
I have a big billboard advertising the deal just outside my house. In any case, we just had a tripreport the other day on here with some out of towners using the coke can deal, so not sure if they really verify where you are coming from. If anything, you can always ask someone in line who is from so cal and buy tickets with them(i am sure they will be happy to get a $20 discount aswell)
Hi,
Can you tell me when the coke can deal may finish please We wont be there until the 22nd March.
Many thanks in advance

Belvidere, I spoke with Universal directly today (which is no easy feat) and the representative indicated that the ';$20 off'; Coke can promotion is still on but....
1. She did not know how long it would be running
2. It applies to Southern California residents only (which is probably why it%26#39;s not advertised anywhere except on local billboards).
I%26#39;m not sure that you should rely on using a local resident to defraud Universal by buying the tickets using this promotion -- not only because of the ethical question but because it might be difficult to find a local resident (let alone one that will be complicit in the subterfuge) but also, you%26#39;d have to bring cash with you to compensate the resident. If this person claims that you are ';with him';, then you won%26#39;t be able to use your credit card because it will prove that you are a non-resident since it will be issued by a non-U.S. bank.
To avoid embarrassment and inconvenience, I would seek out other discounts (Universal has frequent discount programs). Check back with the forum a few weeks before your departure.
If you have plans to visit Disneyland and the San Diego Parks (the Zoo and Sea World), look into the southern California Citypass -- which provides a large discount for these.

They had an $18 discount coupon inside the L.A. Times this week, so always worth to check out the sunday eddition...
I don%26#39;t know if this applies to all military bases, but our base in San Antonio (Lackland has a ticket office and they are running a two for one special. I think the tickets are valid until May. My wife, who is retired civil service, was able to purchase some tickets for my son. She explained to them that they were not for her and they said it was not a problem.
