burbank to chinese theater for tour please ?

Spending just ONE day in LA (Easter) Arriving Burbank - wondering how easy it is to pick up the Hollywood tour buses @ Chinese theater ? e.g. what taxi fare could I expect to pay Burbank to Chinese theater ? Do any tour buses actually pick up in Burbank ? (I know some visit the larger hotels but haven%26#39;t spotted one yet which actually calls at Burbank Bob Hoep airport )

THANKS GUYS

A taxi would be about $25 each way. Since it%26#39;s Easter, that might be your only choice, a taxi.

Did you read our FAQs at the top of the LA forums? There%26#39;s a FAQ on tours.

burbank to chinese theater for tour please ?

thanks so much yogachick,

I read the FAQ%26#39;s on LA tours.....wow !

You and hopskipjump sure spent many hours putting all that info. together !!

Just one more thing, we%26#39;re way better placed from Bob Hope Burbank airport taking a cab to Chinese Theater compared to LAX - Chinese theater ? (Burbank is maybe only half the distance ?) Hope I%26#39;m right, am planning to book flights with Southwestern soon.

Yes, Burbank to the Hollywood and Highland area is closer, but on that holiday, there will be little traffic, so the taxi from LAX would cost less. If the Southwest flight is less into LAX, the savings on the cab might be negligible, making it six of one, half dozen of the other.

However, what my esteemed colleague, Yogachik did not mention is that since Bob Hope is a much smaller airport than LAX, it%26#39;s much faster to get through (think Heathrow vs Gatwick). In addition, Southwest flies Boeing 737 aircraft into Bob Hope which load/unload via front and rear doors simultaneouly, which means exiting the plane much faster. (These same planes unload via the front door only at LAX). No more waiting behind that person who can%26#39;t seem to get his/her suitcase out of the overhead compartment!

A few more things....

1. There is a city bus that pulls up on the road in front of the airport (Bob Hope) and goes into Hollywood. It picks up at the foot of the airport%26#39;s driveway (just turn left when you exit your terminal and keep walking until you hit the public road -- Hollywood Way. Get off the bus at the southwest corner of Hollywood Bl %26amp; Highland Av (which is 1 minute%26#39;s walk from the Chinese Theater). It%26#39;s the #222 Metro Bus However, what will you do with your luggage?? You can%26#39;t take it on the tour with you!!

2. Alternatively, you can pick up many of Starline Coach tour%26#39;s longer tours at the Marriott hotel (';Burbank Airport Marriott Hotel) at 2500 Hollywood Way in Burbank (the airport%26#39;s address is 2627 Hollywood Way -- very close by).

Good luck!

we%26#39;re just there for the day hop so no luggage !!!

Your replies are incredibly detailed !

I must try + offer as good a service as your%26#39;s, when travellers ask me stuff about my home town (Stoke, UK) they invariably receive just a sentence or two from me.

I%26#39;m impressed with your work !

If you want to $ave on cab fare, the 222 bus comes about every 40 minutes on Sundays starting at around 7:20am. It will only take you five minutes to get from the airport terminal out to Hollywood Way - the bus stop is right in front of McDonalds entrance. The trip down to Hollywood takes 30 minutes from the airport...but a cab would take you 15 so it%26#39;s not really that bad for the savings.

You might want to check with the Marriot hotel, right outside Burbank/Bob Hope airport, just in case Starline tours offers pickups there.
