best view rooms

SF on business for the week of Jan 25. Looking in Union Square/SoMa for modern room with a view within walking distance of the Marriott on 4th St. I%26#39;d thought I would throw it to the forum, since I can%26#39;t decide.

Budget around 300 per night (with parking)

A top floor room at the Marriott should be modern and offer a good view.

The new Inter Continental on Howard Street is a modern room. High floor rooms offer a great view.

A new room high up in the tower at the St. Francis provides a great view as well as a high floor room at the Grand Hyatt.

The Griffon in the Embarcadero has view of bridge which is pretty at night (request room with view since inner/st side rooms don%26#39;t). Embarcadero location is about 1 block south of Market St. You%26#39;d be walking about the distance of 1 BART station along Market to get to the 4th St. It%26#39;s across the street from the Ferry Building (restaurants, shops, ferry). Union Square: the ones ringing USq will have views being so high up but tend to be historic. That means be prepared for smaller size rooms (people were not as tall back then) and older plumbing.
