cross country (x-country) skiing in Sequoia

We%26#39;ll be staying at the Wuksachi in February 2009. We are intermediate level cross-country skiers. Never been to Sequoia. Any advice or references that will help us maximize our enjoyment? Thanks!

You%26#39;re going to love it! My favorite is to go up crescent meadow road, you can go all the way up to the meadow and farther. Lots of lovely huge sequoia trees to enjoy.

Or you can do the pear lake/ panther gap trail. No sequoias, but plenty of beautiful pines and great scenery.

You will need to get the map, cross country ski trails of sequoia.

Bring chains, a snow shovel, and a windshield ice scraper.

Many thanks! Maybe we%26#39;ll try both!!!

If you want to overnight at Pear Lake hut be sure to make reservations.

There are also trails in nearby Giant Sequoia National Monument, Sequoia National Forest and Sierra National Forest.

There are a number of Sequoia National Forest trails that start near Montecito-Sequoia lodge, north of Wuksachi on the Generals Highway. Look for Quail Flat, Big Meadows, and Upper Woodward parking areas.

Also there are some trails in the Hume Lake area past Grant Grove.

Great info...thanks for the links!
