Need help. Will be in San Diego for the week of June 8. Staying at Catamaran Hotel and Spa. Appreciate any imformation on what kind of weather to expect, what is in the area witin walking distance to see and do and good places to eat. We will have a car but I am looking for ideas to do on my own while hubby is at work and I would prefer to stay in the area on foot. Thanks for any help you can offer.

You will be a block from the beach and right on the bay. If you like to take long walks, you are in luck. There are miles of walkways on the bay and the beach has a rather long strip as well.
There are plenty of clothing shops on Garnet (more geared toward the younger crowd. As far as food, here is what is in walking distance:
Kono’s – breakfast %26amp; lunch only (Boardwalk)
The Eggery – Nice place for breakfast and lunch (Mission)
World Famous – A favorite of mine and many others (Boardwalk)
Tower 23 / Jordan – Probably the best food at the beach (Boardwalk)
Thai Village – My favorite Thai in the area (Mission)
Surfside Sushi – Thumbs up from many of my Japanese friends (Mission)
Cass Street Bar %26amp; Grill - Great food and also a local hangout (Cass)
Kafe Yen Asian Cuisine – Good Asian mixed (Garnet)
Firehouse CafĂ© – Recently remodeled, good food and a mixed crowd
Ramiro%26#39;s – Fast-food Mexican, the chicken burrito! (Mission)
Nicks-at-the-Beach – Late night dining with club upstairs (Mission)
Cafe 976 – My favorite coffee shop (Cass)

You are staying across from the ocean in our Mission Bay Park with miles of trails for walking/biking etc.
There is nothing else to do in walking distance besides water activities, spa treatments ,window shopping etc. IT is the beach.
In order to do other things you will have to leave the immediate area.
