Dark Skies in Death Valley

As we all know, one of the attractions of remote or rural national parks is the opportunity to see lots of stars.

Death Valley is not as remote as we would like, because the lights of Las Vegas pollute the night sky and can physically be seen from Dante%26#39;s View.

Here is a story about how the NPS hopes to make DV a dark-sky park without any help from Las Vegas, which isn%26#39;t going to switch off the Luxor, Bellagio, or Mandalay Bay just people in DV can see the Milky Way.
