Suggestions for an area to stay in

We visited Los Angeles 3 weeks ago. It was a short trip, we wanted to visit family, go to Universal, and catch the Lakers Game. We stayed in Burbank because it is just 10 minutes away from where our family lives.

We are now planning to travel again for a one week stay in August.

We are a family of 5 with 3 teen boys. We will be also travelling with my parents who are both in the early 80s. My mom has difficulting walking long distances.

We have stayed in the Disneyland area before. This vacation will be more for relaxation. Thinking of somewhere with nice views for my parents to enjoy on the days they don%26#39;t want to venture out.

Any ideas as to areas to stay in, our budget would be around $300-$350 per night/per room.

Thanks for any suggestions.

A great place with three teens in August, would be the Sea View Inn in Manhattan Beach, 3 miles from LAX. They have Penthouse 2 bedroom units with large balcony overlooking the ocean, and great sunsets, as well as other other rooms. They loan out bikes, beach chairs, boogie boards and towels.

Location is in middle of shops and restaurants. The Sea View is about a mile from the Pier, the center of downtown for an easy drive with more restaurants. A walk on the Pier would be nice for your parents.

I would consider Laguna Riviera Resort down in Laguna Beach, great place for a family vacation. Or check out The Inn at Laguna Beach. Be sure to request at least one of the rooms in an easy-access/ no stairs area.

If you are thinking closer to Los Angeles....probably Santa Monica. The Georgian, Loews Beach Hotel or Le Merigot Marriot and The Viceroy fall in your price range. Fairmont Miramar is closer to $400.
