We will be in San Francisco Mid June - 4 adults, 2 teens and are interested in a Muir Woods tours.
Considering either hop on hop off bus tour or one of the smaller mini shuttle tours. Any ideas??
Muir Woods Tours
Hi
Just returned from trip to San Fran and the surrounding areas.
There is a tour that you can get which is combined with other sites. Check the San Francisco Convention and Visitor website. Also there is a bus that goes into Mill Valley which can drop you at the Muir Woods shuttle. The shuttle only operates on Weekends. Muir Woods is very nice and the walks are relatively easy. We did the one hour one in about 40 minutes. However you get there it is worth the trip.

Good feedback on this more personal tour, no personal experience:

We will be there next weekend, Memorial Day weekend, and have reservations with Tom of Muir Woods Walking Tours. I will post when I get back. He returned my call very promptly today and arranged to pick us up at 8am at our hotel (the Argonaut). I was very pleased that he could accomodate us considering that it was a holiday weekend (he only takes 6). We are 2 moms taking 2 teen girls to SF to celebrate their 13th birthdays. We are also planning to take the hop-on, hop-off double decker bus on our first morning in SF to get our lay of the land.
Hi ricandlorie,
I was wondering if you ended up taking this tour with Tom, and if so, what did you think? Was it worth the price and what did he serve for lunch (if you can remember)?
Thanks
Ash
Hi Ash,
You might want to consider starting a new post with a heading something like ';Anyone done Tom Martell%26#39;s Muir Woods Tour'; or ';recommendations for Toms Muir Woods Tour';
You are much more likely to get some responses. ricandlorie only ever did two posts some time ago and probably are not looking at this Forum now.
I have had good positive feedback on Toms tour but I cannot tell you what the lunch menu was.
Email Tom and ask him whats on for lunch.
