Hello -
I%26#39;ll be in town next week for 5 full days and one half day. It will be me, my husband and 14 month old son...but my husband will mainly be at conference so it will mostly be my son and I. I was in SF about 10 years ago and saw a lot so I don%26#39;t feel like I have to hit as much this time as I typically feel like, which is a good expectation since I%26#39;m sure my son will have his own ideas, although he is a very good traveler (or has been so far :).
We%26#39;re staying in Union Square and taking public transportation everywhere, except a cab to the Bay Area Discovery Museum.
Here is my tentative itinerary. I don%26#39;t think I%26#39;ve tried to cram too much in each day. At the moment day 1 and 2 are supposed to be sunny and then showers the rest of our stay.
Day 1: Golden Gate Park - Children%26#39;s Playground, Academy of Sciences and Japanese Tea Garden
Day 2: Alcatraz, Giradelli Square, Pier 39
Day 3: Yerba Buena Gardens (if it%26#39;s nice enough) Ferry Bldg, City Hall, Grace Cathedral (not sure if this is in area)
Day 4: Bay Area Discovery Museum, Sausilito, Ferry back to SF
Day 5: Exploratorium, Lombard Street, Crissy Field.
Day 6: Open for whatever we want....maybe see the Sea Lions again!
Thanks for your comments...let me know if I%26#39;m missing anything!
Quick Itinerary Review/Comments?
I%26#39;m afraid I%26#39;ve gotten to this a little late, but I think yhour itinerary is basically sound. It all depends on the little guy, though.
A cab to the Bay Area Discovery Museum would be a bit expensive, but it all depends, once again on your desire to see it. It may be a much for a 14-month-old to absorb.
Yerba Buena Gardens also has a children%26#39;s museum on site, called Zeum, that might be worth checking out, and the antique carousel is worth a ride.
